With Energy Saxony e.V., a powerful and fast-growing energy platform has been formed that makes it possible to address funding activities on a larger scale at EU, federal and state level and to set up innovative demonstration and pilot plants. A key service offered by the cluster management is the regular screening of funding programs with the aim of making it easier for association members to access funding for innovative projects.
In the BatterieMD educational network, companies, scientific institutions and vocational training providers are networking in order to jointly identify current and future qualification needs of companies along the central German value chain of battery cell production in the states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia in order to develop, test, implement and disseminate a systematic, needs-based and sustainable qualification concept. The project is being funded by the BMWK via the “Qualification measures for battery cell production” program over five years and coordinated by Energy Saxony e.V..
On March 15, Energy Saxony e.V., in cooperation with Circular MTC e.V., began work on the new “Circular Saxony Innovation Cluster” project to establish a circular economy in Saxony. The aim is to create sustainable production and recycling cycles. Together with recycling and industrial companies, R&D projects and demonstration projects are to be developed within the framework of topic-specific working groups.
Consortium to establish a supply infrastructure for green hydrogen and component development for fuel cell vehicles in Saxony
The HZwo e.V. and Energy Saxony e.V., as innovation clusters HZwo formed a consortium in April 2018 to establish a supply infrastructure for green hydrogen and component development for fuel cell vehicles in Saxony. Since April 2022, the innovation cluster funded by the Free State of Saxony with 50 % under the title “Hydrogen Land Saxony” e.g. the steel and chemical industry in the industrial arc LK Meißen in the decarbonization of their processes, initiates R&D projects and projects to create use cases for the production, transport, storage and use of green hydrogen
The Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport (SMWA) is funding this project with almost 200,000 euros until 2020 on the basis of its cluster funding guidelines. The funding aims to support the digital transformation of the energy industry as an integral part of the energy transition and to strengthen the competitiveness of Saxon players in the energy sector both nationally and in selected international target markets in the long term
As the coordinator of a permanent cooperation network in the Saxon energy sector, Energy Saxony supported the WindNODE showcase project in the areas of internationalization, the development of unused synergy potential as well as communication and external presentation
