EBZ Entwicklungs- und Vertriebsgesellschaft Brennstoffzelle mbH has been developing components and test systems for high-temperature fuel cells (SOFC = solid oxide fuel cell) for over 10 years. The test systems are developed and manufactured to customer specifications and cover the entire range from single cells to stacks and stack modules. In addition to the production of test stands and individual process engineering components, EBZ cooperates with well-known commercial suppliers and research institutes within the framework of European Community research projects.

The SOFC can be operated with conventional fuels and has a high energy yield with low noise and pollutant emissions.

The aim is to develop SOFC technology, which is very demanding due to the high temperatures involved, to market maturity. EBZ is supported by its parent company A.S.T. (Angewandte System Technik GmbH), which has extensive expertise in energy and environmental technology, measurement and control technology and power electronics.

Possible applications for SOFC fuel cells range from parallel power and heat generation for real estate, to use as a mobile energy source when traveling, to auxiliary power units (APU) for large vehicles such as diesel locomotives, trucks or tanks.
