Action guide “Use of own electricity with renewable energies”
Using their own electricity offers companies numerous advantages, not least increased competitiveness through greater independence from the energy markets and a positive image to increase acceptance on the market. This guide is aimed at all persons with strategic decision-making powers who wish to convert their company’s energy supply to renewable energy sources and who must observe the energy industry’s rights and obligations. You will receive information on the legal framework for the operation and use of electricity from renewable energy sources. With practical tips, companies can convert their energy supply to renewable energy sources and thus stabilize their energy costs in the long term. This change of energy source is not only an important contribution to climate protection, but also contributes to our own security of supply.

Competence atlas “Energy innovations from Saxony”
The Competence Atlas “Energy Innovations from Saxony” by Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH (WFS) and the Competence Center for Energy Research in Saxony (located at the Saxon Energy Agency – SAENA GmbH) is now available in its fifth edition – also online as an ePaper. The compilation of around 200 profiles provides a comprehensive overview of Saxony’s production, research and development activities in the field of energy technologies.
The numerous players in Saxony’s energy research and industry are active along the entire value chain for a successful energy transition: They develop decentralized generation plants for electricity and heat, work on new, intelligent forms of energy use and use their expertise to introduce sustainable transport and drive systems. The energy-saving development and use of products over their entire life cycle, from design to recycling, plays just as important a role as the end-to-end energy-efficient design of industrial processes, buildings and infrastructures. Digitalization and simulation solutions are proving to be effective tools for a resource-saving, reliable and secure energy supply in business and society.
In addition to the provision of electricity from renewable sources, research and industry are working on climate-neutral mobility and heat supply. Using innovative battery storage technology, power-to-X technologies and other solutions, they are creating meaningful cross-sector links between these three main areas of the energy system. Hydrogen and fuel cell technologies also play a key role.
