PRODUCTION PROCESS:
With Continuous Blow Moulding (CBM), thoenes® has developed a process for the production of fiber composite profiles with which hollow profiles based on braided preforms can be manufactured in series. The process is characterized by near-net-shape production, paired with defined thread placement, flexible layer structure, individual length and the option of integrating sensors. High-performance hybrid yarns combine high-strength carbon and glass fibers with impact-resistant PA6 matrix material in the base material. The damage-free hybridization of the base materials guarantees optimum power transmission in the laminate.
Since March 2023, thoenes® Dichtungstechnik GmbH has been actively involved as a solution provider in the “Hydrogen Land Saxony” innovation cluster.
