As a resource university, the TU Bergakademie takes a comprehensive approach to securing raw materials along the entire value chain, from the exploration of new deposits to the environmentally friendly extraction of raw materials and the development of alternative energy technologies and efficient materials through to recycling.

TU Bergakademie Freiberg is a member of the “Saxon Hydrogen Union”. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hartmut Krause, holder of the Chair of Gas and Thermal Engineering at the Institute of Thermal Engineering and Thermodynamics, is the contact person for the TU BAF’s cutting-edge research in the field of hydrogen use.
