As the largest business segment in Deutsche Bahn AG’s passenger transport division, DB Regio AG connects conurbations with rural areas. It is also an efficient and reliable provider of transport services within these conurbations and operates twelve S-Bahn networks throughout Germany, including the S-Bahn Dresden and the S-Bahn Central Germany. This involves linking service planning and rail service provision on site with the aim of offering a local transport service adapted to local transport needs. This is based on transport contracts with the public transport authorities, which regulate the duration, scope and quality of train services.
The Southeast Region is responsible for the reliable, safe and environmentally friendly provision of regional rail transport services in the federal states of Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Saxony.
