As an agricultural company, AGRASET takes responsibility for environmental awareness, sustainability and resource conservation.
For the agricultural cooperative, the overall concept of sustainability also includes investing in renewable energies. Biogas, photovoltaics and wood chips are used as energy sources at AGRASET. The energy sources used are the residues from the production processes that cannot be utilized in any other way, such as liquid manure from cattle and pigs or grass silage from the 2. and 3rd cut with low energy.
Agraset operates two biogas plants: the biogas plant built at the company’s central site in Naundorf went into operation in 2014. The other one in Wiederau at the site of the pig breeding facility was built back in 2007.
At the same time, roof renovations have been carried out since 2007, in connection with which photovoltaic systems were installed.
AGRASET is thus making its contribution to the energy transition.
