It has its headquarters in Cologne and is represented at a further 30 locations in Germany and 4 offices abroad<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlr.de\/de\/das-dlr\/standorte-und-bueros\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(overview of locations and offices<\/a>).<br\/><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ENERGY RESEARCH AT THE DLR<\/h4>\n\n<p>DLR energy research is making key contributions to the decarbonized energy system of the future as well as to the transition phase. The portfolio includes renewable energy sources, energy conversion technologies and energy storage as well as energy system analysis.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlr.de\/DE\/forschung\/energie_node.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&gt;&gt; learn more<br\/><\/a><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THE INSTITUTE FOR LOW CO2 INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES<\/h4>\n\n<p>DLR is expanding its expertise in energy research with the Institute for Low CO2 Industrial Processes in the Lusatia region. The aim is to reduce CO2 and pollutant emissions from industrial processes and power plants. The work focuses on the specific requirements and research needs for the decarbonization of large energy-intensive industrial sectors (power plants, steel production, cement industry, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, aluminium production).
